Foundations were on Vibro stone columns to improve the ground conditions, a structural steelwork frame, insulated composite metal profile roof and wall cladding in a striking colour mix, electrically operated sectional shutter doors, steel personnel doors, and aluminium windows.

Internally the works included a first-floor mezzanine floor, sub-divided clay production areas, a power floated floor laid to floors with channel drainage, 2-floors of office and welfare accommodation including toilets and kitchen/rest room.

Externally the works included a significant reinforced concrete hardstanding allowing HGV access to the rear of the building, extending the tarmacadam car park, a new sub-station, landscaping and planting.
