T-LEVEL DESIGN & PLANNING STUDENTS GAIN SITE EXPERIENCE
Stoke College Visit: 16th March 2026
Today we welcomed T-Level Design and Planning students from Stoke-on-Trent College to one of our projects – Indurent Stoke
Central, Phase 4, for an engaging site visit giving them the opportunity to experience a live construction project in action.
The visit began with an introduction to the project, followed by a live example of a toolbox talk delivered by our site managers, Jim and Gareth, demonstrating how teams communicate key safety and operational information on site.
Students and staff were keen to ask questions about the project, discussing topics such as challenges faced during construction, the scale and structure of the building, how weather conditions can impact groundworks and CBR testing. The conversation also highlighted the importance of strong relationships with clients and how it also plays a key role in successful project delivery.
To bring the technical side of construction to life, learners were provided with site drawings linked to the current steelwork installation, helping them understand the type of information used by site teams. Our Design Manager, Ollie, spoke with the students and answered questions relating to design and process of drawings being provided.
Managing Director Andrew Slaney also on site engaged with the learners, answering questions about the company, the range of projects previously delivered, and sharing his experience within the construction industry.
The visit concluded with a guided site tour of the site, where students were able to see steel frame installation, cladding works, and groundworks taking place, giving them a valuable insight into how different stages of construction come together on a live project.
“It was great to see enthusiasm and curiosity from the students, and we’re proud to support the next generation of construction professionals.”
